Creating a coupon
Coupons lets you issue discount codes clients enter at checkout. Coupons are a premium feature and require a paid or trial subscription.
- Code
- What the client types. You can write it yourself or have PracFlow generate codes, optionally with a prefix so a batch is recognisable.
- Discount type
- A percentage off, or a fixed amount off. Percentages suit a range of prices, fixed amounts are clearer for a single service.
- Scope
- Applies to everything you sell, or only to services and team members you choose.
- Expiry
- The date after which the code stops working.
- Usage limits
- A total cap across all clients, and a separate cap per person. Zero means unlimited, so set these deliberately.
Choosing who a coupon is for
Eligibility is what turns a blunt discount into a useful tool, because it lets you reward the behaviour you actually want.
| Eligibility | Who can use it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Everyone | Any client. | A general promotion or seasonal offer. |
| New clients | People who have not booked with you before. | Lowering the barrier to a first session. |
| Returning clients | People who have booked before. | Bringing back clients who have lapsed. |
| Specific people | Only the email addresses you list. | A concession rate for an individual, or a partner organisation. |
A discreet way to offer concession rates
Rather than publishing a lower price, create a fixed amount coupon limited to specific people with a one use per person cap. The client gets the reduced rate, your public pricing stays intact, and the arrangement stays private.
Sharing and managing coupons
Copy a coupon to paste into your own message, or send it directly to a client from PracFlow. You can also show a coupon on the confirmation screen after a one to one booking, which is a strong moment to encourage a follow up booking or a package.
Deactivate a coupon to stop it working while keeping its history. Redemptions are tracked, so you can see whether a campaign actually produced bookings. If a booking that used a coupon is cancelled, the redemption is voided and the client can use the code again.
Coupons and package redemption codes are different
A coupon reduces the price at checkout. A redemption code is issued when a client buys a package and lets them book a session already paid for. Both are entered in the same place at checkout, but they come from different features.
